Won a 5 liter paint from Dulux Rubik’s Cube contest in The Star Property Fair
Nov 29th
Attended The Star’s Property Fair on 27th Nov (event is from 27th until 29th Nov 2009) at The KL Convention Center. I’ve attended 2 forums i.e. Model Amber Chia giving a talk on “My Personal Space” and Julie Wong from the Malaysia Institute of Estate Agents talking on “Real Estate Practice on Property Market”
While I was there, I’ve noticed a stack of Rubik’s Cube at the Dulux booth and went in to have a look. There was 2 couples trying their hands on the cube. Both of them cannot complete it.
I was intrigued that both of them can’t complete it and proceed to ask the staff on how it works. All they need to do is to complete only the white color side which has the Dulux logo within a certain time frame. If I remembered correctly, complete within 2 minutes you’ll get the Rubik’s Cube. If within 1 minute, the Rubik’s Cube and a prize while within 30 seconds gets a different prize.
So the staff asked me if I wanted to have a go at it.
“Yeah, why not?” I replied
She reset the cube and pass it to me. She picked up her stopwatch and said “Go”. Immediately, I looked for the side which has the most white color and proceed to complete it. I twist and turn without stopping. I didn’t notice the time. By the time I’ve completed, I heard the beep of her stopwatch. The older couple was amazed by my speed. The staff wrote something and pass it to another staff while saying “29″.
I’ve done it within 29 seconds. It’s not fantastic if compare to those pros in real competition but was good enough to win something here in the Property Fair. I just followed the staff and she pass me a Rubik’s Cube and 5 liter of Dulux’s Light & Space “Spring Blush” color paint.
Wow, I’ve won something nice. I can use it to repaint my parent’s living hall. One side, at least.

Nice. :p
Susan Boyle’s new album is good.
Nov 25th
Before hearing her new album, there’s some critic who says her album is not good or “so-so”. Personally, I like it very much. Like any music I listen, I don’t judge the person by their gender, color nor race. I just love to listen to good music and hers is good.
Ignore her looks or her age or even personality. Just listen to her music especially her voice. You just can’t imagine it’s her. Like any music, it supposed to make your mind to conjure your own image when you hear the music or song. So just lie down and just enjoy.
I especially like her version of “Proud” and “End of the World” since I’m the mellow-type of guy. Worth getting her album. Two thumbs up
Sunday Shopping with my kids
Nov 23rd
Yesterday, I brought my kids to Mid Valley to shop for their present for doing so well in school and for getting an award each.

Once we’re there, we went to the third floor to the Pets Wonderland as my kids wanted to see the animals especially the puppies. After hanging out there for a good 15-20 mins, we then went to a shop called Toy City to “look-see-look-see”. I basically have to remind my kids to look around first before deciding what toys to buy. They’ve an idea what they want earlier. My boy wants a lego toy or Bionicle while my daughter wants a new Barbie (but convinced her to look at Barbie accessories instead as she has 3-4 of them)

We’ve only spent 5-10 mins as they have nothing interesting toys to look/shop. Mostly cheap toys. As the saying goes, “Cheap thing no good, good thing no cheap”. Next stop, Jaya Jusco.
My boy spotted some Bionicle but still cannot decide which one to buy. I’ve advised him to take his time instead of rushing to get one. My daughter saw an ad but can’t find the accessories. So we’ve decided to head down to Toys ‘R Us. While heading there, hunger strikes. We made a stop at Pasta Zanmai.

Err, that’s my ice-cream you’re eating

After they’ve bought their toys (spent above RM300 for their toys, ouch), my daughter still wants to hang around Toys ‘R Us. She also met a new friend too.

By the time we reached home, it was 3:30pm. As long they are happy, I’ll say it’s worth it (energy, time & money). Hope they’ll work hard again next year.

My girl officially scored all subjects perfect As. So proud
Nov 18th
Today I saw my girl’s official results after my wife gave me the report card. All subjects scored perfect 100%. I’m so happy and proud of her.
Now I just have to think whether it’s because of my extra effort or just plain old Barbie doll reward dangling in front of her eyes. 2 Barbies in fact if scored all As. I wonder …..
Dragon Boy is getting his award this Friday. Proud of him.
Nov 17th
The award is “Best Improvement”. Improve his grades and also his position from 32 to 13 place among 52 students in his class. I’m not a slave master and therefore I don’t force him to be in the top 3. I prefer that he did his best to his ability.
Ok, no “C” and so no punishment. Good grades mean shopping this weekend.
I’m so proud of him.
Monkey Girl’s Concert Day
Nov 16th
This year’s concert day was held on 14th Nov 2009 at Cheras Youth Center in the afternoon.

She’s super excited. Not only is she performing a dance, she’s to receive an award. The award is “Best Helper” which to us parent means “busybody”. Muahaha.

Dragon Boy also had this award when he was 5 years old and this year, he’s getting an award for best improvement. My girl also had a good result. In fact, she scored all 100 and she’s one of the 2 students (in her year) who aced all subject this round of exam. Ahem, that’s according to her teacher. I rather wait for both of their official result before I get them their presents.
My girl is asking for 2 Barbie dolls (2??) and my boy wants a PS3. Man, I’m going broke soon.
BTW, if there’s reward, there’s punishment (fyi). My boy had 2 “C”s during his mid-term and his punishment was 2 months without computer games, PSP, PS2 and cartoon TV which officially ended last 31st Oct. Now, he’s playing almost non-stop to catch up. LOL.
Below is her concert
